Nico Ricchini
Nico (he/him) trained in ballet in Lyon and in contemporary dance at Varium, Barcelona. He has collaborated with renowned companies and artists such as Pepe Hevia Danza, Fernando Madagan (Nederlands Dans Theater), Tupac Martir, Emma Martin Dance, La Taimada, CLOD Ensemble and Lali Ayguadé. His participation in Juanjo Giménez's Oscar-nominated short film Timecode is a highlight of his career.
With Akram Khan Company, he performed Chotto Desh, presented in 85 cities and seen by over 110,000 spectators. He was also a rehearsal director for Chotto Xenos and a performer in 2020 and joined the new Chotto Desh tour in 2023, consolidating his artistic focus.
Between 2018 and 2024, Nico co-founded and directed, together with Nadine Gerspacher, the FREE BODIES, FREE ROOTS and FREE PULSE programmes, brought together under FREEZONE, a creative space in Barcelona.
Since 2024, he has been pursuing his career as an independent artist, teacher and guest choreographer.
Nora Baylach
Dancer, creator, contemporary dance teacher, and performing arts photographer, trained outside of institutional academic settings.
She began her professional career as a performer in the National Dance Production of Catalonia, choreographed by Thomas Noone and Roser López Espinosa. She has collaborated with Lowland Performing Arts / Roser López Espinosa since 2018, performing in five productions and occasionally sharing choreographic assistance. She has worked with various companies and independent artists such as Wonderground Company / Roser Tutusaus & Tom Weksler, Ana Borrosa, Métrica Bárbara, La Taimada, and La Súbita, among others. She has also worked as an understudy in shows by Marc Fernández (Aleta), Laia Santanach (Àer), Animal Religion (…y las ideas vuelan), Cía Elelei (A ciegas), and Las Huecas (De l’amistat).
Interested in pedagogy and teaching, she participates in and develops various educational projects with different schools and creative hubs in Barcelona. As a teacher, she focuses on the practical and conceptual framework of touch, developing a concrete practice that encompasses improvisation, floorwork, and partnering, finding an organic and receptive body for these techniques. She currently collaborates with the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, Área Espai de Dansa i Creació, nunArt, and the APDC, among other spaces in Barcelona. She also offers workshops, under the title "The Other Listening," both nationally and internationally.
José Reches
Born in Reus (Tarragona), he was trained in Barcelona, where he obtained a training grant at the Varium dance school, directed by Anna Sanchez. In 2002 he formed his own Dance Company "La Piel".
As a dancer he has worked among other companies: Metros (Ramon Oller, Barcelona), Ardermat 11 (Portugal), Compañía de Danza de Lisboa (Portugal) Paulo Ribeiro (Portugal), 10&10 Dance (Madrid).
As a teacher in different schools and dance companies; School of Dance Rui Horta (Portugal), Lavanderia a Vapore (Turin, Italy), Espaziodanza (Genoa, Italy), Choreographic Center La Ventilla, drama school of Cristina Rota, Animalario theatre company, Natalia Medina Dance School (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) and Companies: 10&10, Última vez (Wim Vandekeybus) among others.
In 2002 he funds his own company "La piel" with choreogrphies like En tierra de nadie, Amati Purpurade, Como perros. He has also several creations for the Royal Conservatory mariemma: Malacarne, Wunderbar, Iʼ dont know, Heaven, Young happenings, Sine die, Korpo.
For Natalia Medina's dance company: Para la Compañía de danza Natalia Medina: Exquisite Form (2015) “Kiss me hard before you go” for the Balletto teatro di Torino , Italia (2018).
Since 2003 he has been a teacher and choreographer at the R.C.P.D “Mariemma”; since 2019 he has been head of the contemporary dance department there. Creator of the 5Fest festival. He continues his work as a video dance creator with a trilogy linked to Extremadura.
Among his latest releases are Galea for the RCPD "Mariemma" (2020) and El beso de plata (2020) and DUX (2022) for his own company. Since 2020 he has been part of Tierras en danza team.
